StoreProtect®
Exactly formulated to the University of Wisconsin’s (UW) Cold Storage Solution (CSS) formula, and production technology without autoclaving – chosen by Dr Belzer as the only recommended method for production of solution containing raffinose and adenosine. The gold standard in perfusion and static organ preservation solution, UW is the first intracellular-like preservation medium supporting optimal organ preservation during static hypothermic storage. It is highly effective for livers, kidneys, and pancreas grafts, allowing for cold ischaemic storage for up to 24 hours. EU CE certified medical device.
Produced in an aseptic filling process that eliminates thermal degradation of sugars and oxidation of ingredients caused by autoclaving.
Preparation & Use
Prior to administration StoreProtect® bags should be cooled to between 2°C and 6°C and visually inspected for leaks, particulate matter, precipitates, contamination, turbidity, clarity and colour.
During organ retrieval, StoreProtect® is administered using standard organ preservation protocols to achieve flushing and cooling of organs.
Following procurement, organs should be fully flushed, continuously until the organ appears uniformly pale and the effluent is clear.
StoreProtect® should be used by qualified healthcare professionals in accordance with transplant centre protocols.
Product Specifications
StoreProtect® is a clear to light yellow, sterile, non-pyrogenic solution with an osmolality of approximately 320 m0sm/kg, sodium concentration of 29 mmol/L, potassium concentration of 125 mmol/L and a pH of approximatively 7.4 at room temperature.
